Want to help but can't to commit to coaching?
There are always other ways to help/volunteer at HSLL.Other ways to help might be: -
Working the concession stand (Our League cannot run without having our concession stands open!)

-Asking coaches if they need a Scorebook person - see the video below to learn this crucial task
-For baseball not only the scorebook, but also pitch count needs to be taken
-For Baseball and Softball - Coaches need someone to run the scoreboard at home games
-Helping coaches rake/clean fields after a game/practice (Hand Raking is always best, which only takes a few extra minutes)
-Helping a coach Chalk the field before home games - this way the coach can focus on getting the kids warmed up and ready
-Kids love snacks, Help arrange a snack schedule with all the other parents on your team
-Just ask your players coach if they need help with anything on/off the field so they can focus on practices/games. Coaches are volunteers
and anything else to make the season run more efficient is always appreciated!
-Most important way to help, Keeping a positive attitude towards other Teams, Coaches, & especially our Youth Umpires as we play games!
Scorebook:Need to learn how to keep a scorebook? Check out this
video.
Coaches should know how to keep this, but we suggest having a parent keep the book during the game. They could do it this way or an app like Game Changer. We also suggest having another parent keep the Pitch count for baseball, whom sit side by side/ relatively close. Coaches can ask these parents or have them let them know at certain pitch count numbers so they don't go over their allotted amount. Check out
Pitch Count Rules by league age.
