Dear Business Sponsors,

Opening Day of the 2024 Little League Season is approaching quickly!

As you know, our proud Harbor Springs Little League is entirely dependent on volunteers, parents, and local businesses. We also rely upon donations of both time and money to keep our league strong. For example, we use those donations to enhance our fields, buy and/or upgrade equipment, purchase uniforms, and to ensure anyone who wants to play can, regardless of their financial circumstances. Being a Harbor Springs Little League Sponsor is a great way to display your dedication within the local community and gain valued advertising exposure.

Check out President Steve Keck’s recent Letter in the Harbor Light:

Most people aren’t thinking about Little League Baseball and Softball in January; however, the Harbor Springs Little League Committee is already hard at work preparing for opening day on May 4th.
This season brings with it many changes. This season we have a much more robust committee consisting of 19 positions to include additions of a compliance officer, dedicated concessions officer, field scheduler, coaches’ coordinator, league liaison, as well as separate player agents for both baseball and softball.
The objective behind these additions is simple: create dedicated lines of authority and responsibility, improve transparency, streamline processes, and make the playing experience the best it can be for everyone involved.
Additionally, we’ve improved our on-line registration process which opened January 5th, which includes an option to opt into a group text program where the league can advise of weather cancellations, or other high priority messaging. We now have a dedicated social media coordinator, we are adding a coach’s orientation to issue gear, align our coaches and identify best coaching practices. Moreover, we are coordinating a player showcase and adding a player draft as well as converting the names of our fields back to their rightful heritage as Reber and Hoffman Fields.
Another major change this year is the addition of the “President’s Fund”. A dedicated pot of money provided by donations that will ensure that every child’s registration fee will be paid for by the fund should there be family financial constraints.
As league president I kicked off this fund with a personal donation of $500 and issue a challenge to anyone who would also like to donate to the fund to ensure every child has the opportunity to experience the joy that playing Little League baseball and softball brings.
Our committee has challenged itself to become the Gold Standard of Little League Baseball and Softball. Part of that goal means bringing our fields back to the standard our community deserves, and this obviously requires a significant monetary obligation for functioning scoreboards, new pitchers mounds, tarps to protect the mound and bases, new clay on the base paths, etc.
There is no greater joy than seeing the smiles that Little League brings both to players and all our dedicated volunteers.
As always none of this is possible without your help. If you want to help work concessions, mow the fields, coach, umpire, or donate, please go to www.harborbaseball.com.
On behalf of Harbor Springs Little League, thank you!
Let’s have a great season…Go Rams!!!
Steve Keck
